Poop Tracker App Guides

Practical instructions for logging your bowel movements, using the Bristol stool scale, and reviewing your timeline on iPhone.

Getting started Poop Tracker

How to log bowel movements with the Bristol stool scale

Logging a bowel movement with Poop Tracker takes only a few taps on the Quick Record screen. The app uses the standardized 7-type Bristol stool scale to provide consistent visual categories for your daily logs.

To record a visit, tap the matching type number (from Type 1 hard lumps to Type 7 liquid), pick an optional stool color, and tap "Keep records" to save the entry to your timeline. If you are logging a past visit, you can adjust the date and time before saving.

History Poop Tracker

How to review your recorded history

The History tab displays your previous entries in a chronological timeline, accompanied by daily counts and overview metrics.

You can scroll through past entries by date, filter logs by category tags, or search your saved notes to quickly find specific records when looking back at your weekly routine.

Notes Poop Tracker

What notes to write in your bowel movement diary

Adding personal notes gives your records practical context without turning tracking into a chore. Consider noting down unusual meals, water intake, physical activity, or digestive comfort.

Saved notes appear directly on your entry cards in the timeline and can be searched whenever you want to see what was happening on a particular day.
